Powerball reaches second highest jackpot in history at $1.8 Billion

Powerball officials are reporting the estimated jackpot for Saturday night’s, September 6, 2025, Powerball Lottery rose to $1.8 billion. That would make this jackpot the second-largest prize in US lottery history. The largest jackpot was won in November 2022 at just over $2 billion.

Tonight’s drawing takes place at 9:59 p.m.

If a player matches all six numbers, they will have the option to receive 30 annual payments totaling $1.8 billion or a lump sum amount of $826 million. Both amounts listed are before taxes.

There have been 42 drawings since the last Powerball jackpot was won back in May. According to Powerball officials, 101 tickets sold during the streak have won $1 million prizes.

The odds of winning the full jackpot is 1 in 292.2 million.
