Preps Underway for Walleye Weekend

Preparations continue for Walleye Weekend. The annual event takes place this Friday through Sunday at Lakeside Park. Pete Wilke with Fond du Lac Festivals says they’re in the process of transforming the park into a festival grounds.

The festival officially starts Friday at 3 PM with food, live music on 3 different stages and lots of other activities like a softball tournament, kids games and activities, pier pups, and the wild world of animals show.

Brent Bel & The Boys and Driftwood will be playing the GRANDE CHEESE CENTER STAGE. Ozzy Osbourne Tribute band Crazy Train will be on the Mercury Marine Point West Stage at 7:30 PM. And the band Flannel Revival will be on the HOLIDAY AUTOMOTIVE EAST STAGE.

The 48th annual Mercury Marine Walleye fishing tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday.

A  Kids fishing tournament for kids ages 15 and younger takes place on Saturday, and the Family fishing tournament will be held on Sunday.  The kids and family tournaments are held on Oven Island with fish caught weighed on electronic scales with the most weight winning.
