Public Listening Session on 2026 Fond du Lac County Budget
County Board Supervisors Mary B. Hayes, Tiffany Brault and Tom Herlache invite the public to a listening session on Fond du Lac County’s proposed 2027 budget on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the McLane Room at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
The session will give residents an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns and discuss county spending priorities before the Public Hearing on the Budget on October 27th. Supervisor 0Hayes emphasized. “We need public engagement to ensure we are making the most informed, fiscally responsible, and community-conscious choices.”
A formal public hearing on the proposed 2027 budget will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 6pm. Residents may address the entire County Board for up to three minutes about any part of the proposed budget.
The listening session provides an additional opportunity for residents to discuss the budget with the hosting supervisors and ask questions and know more about the budget before the formal public hearing.
The annual budget process began on Tuesday, October 13th when the County Executive presented the proposed budget to the County Board. The Proposed Budget Summary, Proposed Budget Book and Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan were released at that time. The Finance Committee is scheduled to review the proposed budget and consider possible changes on October 20. The public hearing will be held on October 27th at 6pm and the full County Board will vote on the budget on November 5th.
