Rays snap Brewers playoff winning streak in extra innings… stay alive to fight another game
The Milwaukee Brewers will have to wait at least one more game to try to clinch their first World Series championship.
Tampa Bay rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 12th inning Tuesday night, October 27, 2026, to beat the Brewers four to three, avoiding elimination and forcing a fifth game in the World Series.
Milwaukee appeared to have the game in hand after rookie Cooper Pratt hit a solo home run in the top of the 12th to give the Brewers a three-to-two lead.
But Tampa Bay answered in the bottom half of the inning.
A throwing error by Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz helped open the door for the Rays, who strung together several hits before pinch-hitter Ben Williamson delivered the game-winning single with the bases loaded.
The loss ends Milwaukee’s eight-game winning streak and leaves the Brewers still one victory away from the franchise’s first World Series title.
Game five is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Tampa Bay
