Repeat offenders caught running drugs through Fond du Lac County
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office continues to see and combat drug running through the county.
On Friday, August 23, 2024, officials released information about one of their more recent busts that involved a deputy noticing a driver going unusually slow on I-41 back on July 25th of this year.
Through a registration check, the deputy learned the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted and based on the deputy’s training and experience, the traffic stop turned into a drug investigation.
As a result approximately 230 grams of methamphetamine and 30 grams of fentanyl were seized. Both the 39 year old driver from Phillips, Wisconsin and 30 year old passenger from Appleton were charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Fentanyl with a Repeat Offender modifier as they both had previous felony drug related convictions. Both were out on probation at the time for previous charges, which has since been revoked, and are now in prison.
