Retired NYPD Chief Pilot and Emergency Management Specialist to speak for EAA’s annual Sept. 11 memorial program

Two speakers with firsthand experience of the September 11th attacks and their aftermath will be featured at the EAA Aviation Museum’s annual 9/11 memorial presentation.

The program is set for Friday, September 11th, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the museum’s Founder’s Wing.

Ken Solosky is a retired New York City Police Department chief pilot who was in the air on September 11th, 2001. He coordinated the aviation response and captured video and photographs of the attacks that became some of the primary live television footage broadcast around the world.

He’ll be joined by Dr. Mike Fagel, an emergency management specialist who spent more than 100 days working with the New York City Fire Department following the attacks. Fagel helped develop plans to keep the department operating despite major losses of personnel and equipment.

The program is open to the public. Admission is free for EAA members, active military, law enforcement, public safety personnel and first responders. Admission is five dollars for everyone else.
