Road construction season continues in Fond du Lac

The continued nice weather is giving road crews a chance to finish up construction projects around the city. Among those still active are…

On Western Avenue, between Military Road and Main Street, and on Macy Street, between Court Street and Western Avenue, crews will continue placing concrete. Later in the week, electrical crews will work on light pole bases for the new traffic signals.

Western Avenue remains closed between Macy and Oak Streets, although residents, business owners, jurors and customers can still access properties beyond the road-closed-to-through-traffic signs.

On Elm Street, between South Street and Western Avenue, crews plan to install curb and gutter, sidewalks and driveways. Elm Street remains closed to traffic, but local access is being maintained.

On Drury Place, between Hillcrest Lane and Seymour Street, electrical crews will install conduit, with concrete work expected to begin in the middle of the week. That street is also closed to through traffic.

And on Pioneer Road, between County Highway V and Fond du Lac Avenue, county crews will continue building sidewalks and driveway approaches. Pioneer Road remains closed through the construction zone.

Drivers are reminded not to go around road-closed signs or move construction barricades. Parking is also prohibited within the Pioneer Road construction zone during working hours.

all construction schedules are weather dependent.
