Sale of Festival Foods is official

Festival foods has announced the sale of their namesake and stores to Schnucks Markets has been finalized.

The two grocery store chains announced the merger about a month ago and now the sale is official.

This is Schnucks first venture into the Wisconsin market, buying all 42 Festival Foods grocery stores in the state. Schnucks is based out of St. Louis, Missouri with over 100 stores in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.

Both stores will stay operating under their current store name and it’s said this is nothing more than a change of owners. Schnucks says they have very similar operating standards as Festival and shoppers will likely notice no difference.
