SBA offers relief to Wisconsin businesses, private nonprofits, residents affected by severe storms and tornadoes
Some Fond du Lac County businesses and nonprofit organizations affected by severe storms in July may qualify for low-interest federal disaster loans.
The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the assistance following a presidential disaster declaration issued October 7, 2026.
Fond du Lac County is among several neighboring counties eligible for Economic Injury Disaster Loans. These loans can help eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations cover operating expenses and other financial obligations when disaster-related losses affect their ability to pay the bills.
The assistance is available even if a business or nonprofit did not suffer direct physical damage, provided the financial losses are directly related to the July 27th storms and tornadoes.
Interest rates start at 4% for eligible businesses and 3.625% for private nonprofits, with loan terms of up to 30 years.
The deadline to apply for economic injury loans is July 7th, of 2027.
