Serious crashes occur on area roads in surrounding counties

In Winnebago County, a multi vehicle crash was reported, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, on Highway 21 just west of Oshkosh.

Just after 6 PM law enforcement and Town of Algoma Fire and Oshkosh Ambulance were sent to the crash where it was reported one of the vehicles was on fire with a person still inside. Before authorities arrived, it was reported that bystanders were able to pull the person from the vehicle and CPR was being performed. No details have been released in this crash at this time.

And in Dodge County, Just before 8 PM on Highway 151 near Highway 73, a crash was reported where an occupant was ejected from a vehicle.

According to preliminary investigation, a southbound vehicle lost control and crossed over into the northbound lanes where it was struck by a northbound semi. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 45-year-old man from Deerfield, Wisconsin, was ejected and sustained life threatening injuries. They were transported to a Madison hospital by Lifestar ambulance out of Columbus. The driver of the semi was uninjured. Highway 151 at the scene of the crash was closed for over four hours while crews worked the scene.
