Seven suspects taken into custody after high speed chase in Fond du Lac County

The Wisconsin State Patrol as well as Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies took seven people into custody that were in a vehicle involved in a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County Friday, May 9, 2025.

The story starts at about 3:45 PM when Pewaukee Police notified State Patrol that a vehicle wanted for a smash and grab out of a vehicle in their jurisdiction was seen on Flock cameras in Winnebago County.

The black Mazda CX90 was found to also be wanted in Brown County as well.

At 4:15 PM a Flock camera spotted the vehicle southbound on 41 from the Winnebago County line, and a state patrol officer watching for the vehicle at Lincoln Road saw the vehicle pass his location.

The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle by activating the cruiser’s lights and siren but the driver of the suspect vehicle increased their speed to over 100 mph in an attempt to elude the trooper. At this point, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies also started to get involved in the chase.

According to the trooper that was chasing the vehicle, it sideswiped another vehicle as it drove at speeds of 118 mph south of Townline Road.

A sheriff’s deputy was set up at Johnson Street with a tire deflation device which the suspect vehicle struck, causing them to lose several tires.

At Military Road, another officer was set up with spike strips which were also successful at hitting the vehicle’s tires.

With multiple tires shredding off the vehicle, the driver was forced to slow down dramatically, at which time a pursuing officer successfully performed a “pit maneuver” which is when an officer uses their squad to push the back quarter panel of the fleeing vehicle, causing it to spin out.

The vehicle came to a stop just south of Hickory Street and a high risk stop was performed. During that time, southbound 41 was stopped which backed up traffic considerably until officers were able to take the vehicle’s occupants into custody and get the vehicle off the road.

No other information has been released on the incident. If a press release is issued, KFIZ will add details not already known to this article.
