Severe weather possible Monday and Tuesday

Parts of Wisconsin, including the Fond du Lac area, could be under the gun for severe weather Monday afternoon, April 13, 2026, into tonight, and then again Tuesday.

A stationary front out ahead of a low pressure system looks to set up across the state, giving the focus for storm development.

Models are in disagreement with where this front will stall, with one saying northern Wisconsin and another putting it just north of Fond du Lac County. This second scenario would have storms forming after 3 pm in, and just north of our area, with conditions favorable for rotating storms that could produce hail and a tornado or two.

Storms would move north of the area soon after forming, but look to move back south with the retreating front, drifting back south overnight with a continued severe threat.

The National Weather Service seems to be favoring this farther south scenario, and have issued a flood watch for counties just north of Fond du Lac due to training thunderstorms possible to move over already saturated grounds.

Storms would move out of the area by daybreak Tuesday, but could reform later in the day Tuesday afternoon in the 3-4 p.m. timeframe, with a continued chance for all severe threats.
