Single vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County knocks out power – injures driver

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, North Fond du Lac Police, Van Dyne Fire Department and North Fond du Lac Ambulance responded to a single vehicle crash early Tuesday morning, March 11, 2025, that injured the vehicle’s sole occupant.

At 2:44 AM emergency responders were paged to the area of Lakeshore Road, near the wayside between Cottage Drive and Kinker Road.

Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle had struck a power pole, damaging the transformer, and the lone female driver with a possible head injury. Medical personnel on scene requested a medical helicopter and ThedaStar responded from Neenah.

Alliant Energy was called to repair the transformer. According to Alliant’s website, the damage affected five households in the area with an estimated repair time of 7 AM.

It’s unknown at this time what caused the driver to leave the roadway, and the sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
