Bielema Introduced At Arkansas

Former Badger coach Brett Bielema was officially introduced as the new head coach at Arkansas Wednesday afternoon.  Bielema will take over for interim coach John L. Smith who led the Razorbacks to a 4-8 record after Bobby Petrino was fired because of off the field issues last springs.  The former Badger coach said he was excited to be in the SEC and also cited not being able to pay assistant coaches higher salaries at Wisconsin as reasons for his move.  His six year contract is expected to pay him about $3.2 million dollars per season.

Alvarez To Coach Rose Bowl

The Packer re-signed RB Ryan Grant on Wednesday to help the thinning depth at the position.  RB Johnny White was placed on injured reserve with a concussion and fellow back James Starks could be lost of the season with a knee injury.  Grant is 5th on the Packers all-time rushing list with 4016 yards.  He spent time with the Washington Redskins this year but had just one carry in the month he was with the team.

Woodson Back

Defensive back Charles Woodson was back on the practice field on Wednesday as he recovers from a broken collar bone.  Woodson was limited in what he could do, but head coach Mike McCarthy says he getting close to being able to return to game action.  Sam Shields also got back on the practice field Wednesday for the first time in a month.  11 players are on the injured list.  Mike Neal, Jordy Nelson, TJ Lang, and Clay Matthews all sat out practice Wednesday.   The Packers host the Lions on Sunday Night Football this weekend.
