Crosby Stays
Packers coach Mike McCarthy reiterated on Monday that he will not be looking for a replacement for kicker Mason Crosby. The Packer kicker missed two more kicks in Sunday’s win over Chicago. Crosby has made just 17 of 29 field goal attempts this season. The NFC North champs take today off and will get back on the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Lambeau. That game kicks off at noon and you’ll hear it on KFIZ.
Monday Night Football
The New York Jets were officially eliminated from the AFC playoff race with a 14-10 loss to Tennessee on Monday Night Football. Chris Johnson ran for 122 yards and a touchdown in the win for the Titans. The Jets drop to 6-8 on the season while the Titans improve to 5-9.
Faulkner Leaves UW
Another Wisconsin Badger assistant coach has gone to NC State. Eddie Faulkner will coach tight ends and fullbacks and also serve as special teams coach for new head coach Dave Doeren. Offensive coordinator Matt Canada announced over the weekend that he would be leaving the Badgers to serve that some position for the Wolfpack.
Brewers Sign Murphy
The Brewers inked utility infielder Donnie Murphy to a minor league contract on Monday. Murphy can play 3rd, shortstop and 2nd base. The 30-year-old played the last three seasons with Miami and if he makes the team could backup Jean Segura at shortstop.
Dickey Heading To Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays and National League Cy Young Award winner RA Dickey have agreed on a 2-year, $25 million dollar contract extension allowing the team to complete a trade with the New York Mets.
Ledgers Roll By Sheboygan Christian
The St. Mary’s Springs boys basketball team hammered Sheboygan Christian 76-38 on Monday night at the Hutter Gymnasium. Eric Feldner led the way with 13 points as the Ledgers put 11 players in the scoring column. The win improves St. Mary’s Springs to 5-0 on the season. They host North Fondy on Thursday night. You’ll hear that game on KFIZ.
Fondy Hoops on KFIZ
The Fond du Lac boys basketball team looks for their 3rd straight win tonight as they host Oshkosh West at the Acuity Fieldhouse. Coverage begins at 7:05pm with the Backyard Grill Pregame Show. The tip is set for 7:30pm.
