Rose Bowl

After losing the last two Rose Bowls the Wisconsin Badgers hope that Barry Alvarez can lead them to a win the BCS game this afternoon against Stanford.  Alvarez won three Rose Bowls during his tenure on the sidelines and he looks to make it four as interim coach.  New head coach Gary Andersen will be at the game in Pasadena, but will be a “fly on the wall” during the game.  The Badgers will wear their white jerseys this afternoon with red pants.  Coverage of the Rose Bowl begins at 2pm with the kickoff set for 4pm on KFIZ.  It’s presented by Fondy Junior Football and the Fondy Quarterback Club.

Packers

The Packers are back on the practice field today as they get ready for their NFC Wild Card round playoff game with the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday night.  With the Saturday game, the Packers don’t get their normal Tuesday off.  The Packers will be playing Saturday night without rookie defensive lineman Jerel Worthy who suffered a knee injury in the loss to the Vikings on Sunday.  Mike McCarthy said at his Monday press conference that Worthy still needed more tests but he would most likely miss the rest of the post-season.  McCarthy also said that Randall Cobb was real close to being ready to play on Sunday and he thinks he’ll be good to go on Saturday night.  The Packers also hope to get Charles Woodson back for the playoff game. He’s missed most of the season with a broken collar bone.  Saturday night’s game kicks off at 7pm.  Pregame begins at 5pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
