SSM Health, MPTC to host Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day June 12

SSM Health is partnering with Moraine Park Technical College to host a Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day at Techniques Salon & Spa. The event takes place Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 7:30 am – noon and 12:30 – 4:30 pm at 235 N. National Avenue, in Fond du Lac.

Free services include haircuts, hairstyles, shampoo and style of wig, scalp treatments, manicures, pedicures, and facials.

Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day is a nationwide event day of volunteering, when those in the beauty and wellness industries offer complimentary services of their choice to all men, women, and children cancer survivors, regardless of their type of cancer or when they were diagnosed.

The idea for the day was started in 2003 in northern California when a spa owner had so many cancer patients coming in, they decided to have a spa day for cancer survivors. A spa owner in Illinois learned of the idea and brought it to their location, and the idea spread from there.
