SSM Health supporting Fondy CARES

A local program helping Fond du Lac students access mental health services is getting a $5,000 boost from SSM Health.

SSM Health is providing the community benefit gift to Fondy CARES, which provides counseling services to students in the Fond du Lac School District.

The program partners with mental health agencies to provide therapy right inside schools during the school day.

The goal is to remove some of the barriers that can keep students from getting help — including cost, transportation and scheduling.

The five-thousand-dollar donation will help provide counseling for up to 20 underinsured or uninsured students during the upcoming school year.

Fondy CARES serves all 14 schools in the Fond du Lac School District.

Since the program started in 2018, it’s provided more than 27,000 counseling sessions to more than 2,200 students.
