SSM Health supporting Sigma of Fond du Lac’s efforts to assist unhoused students, families in crisis
SSM Health is providing a $10,000 community health grant to Sigma of Fond du Lac to help expand programs serving unhoused students and families dealing with financial hardship.
The funding is expected to help Sigma increase the number of students it assists from about 51 last year to at least 75 students this year.
The program provides help with food insecurity, hygiene products, school and graduation expenses, birthday celebrations and other basic needs.
Sigma is also launching a new Weekend Fuel Pack program, providing shelf-stable foods to students who may not have access to school meals during weekends and school breaks.
The organization works with Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac and Campbellsport high schools to identify students who need assistance.
