SSM Health volunteers awards six scholarships

Six area students who intend to pursue careers in health care have been awarded scholarships from SSM Health.

SSM Health volunteers have awarded three from the Fond du Lac area with SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital volunteers giving one. In addition, SSM Health volunteers are awarding two technical school scholarships.

Scholarship recipients were chosen from among area high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in health care.

Award recipients include:

  • Breya Pollack is a recipient of an SSM Health Volunteer Services $2,000 scholarship. She attends Horace Mann High School and plans to pursue a career in speech and language pathologist at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
  • Jaedyn Burns is a recipient of an SSM Health Volunteer Services $2,000 scholarship. She attends Campbellsport High School and plans to attend Vanderbilt University to pursue a degree in psychiatry.
  • Lindsay Vander Galien is a recipient of an SSM Health Volunteer Services $2,000 scholarship. She attends Randolph High School and plans to attend UW-Parkside to pursue a career in nursing.
  • Miguel Garcia is a recipient of an SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital Volunteers $2,000 scholarship. He attends Waupun Area Junior/Senior High School. He plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to pursue a career as a physician.
  • Lainey Schepp is a recipient of an SSM Health Volunteers Technical School $1,000 scholarship. She attends Oakfield High School and plans to attend Moraine Park Technical College to pursue a career in sonography.
  • Nicholas Talma is a recipient of an SSM Health Volunteers Technical School $1,000 scholarship. He attends Markesan High School and plans to attend Moraine Park Technical College to pursue a career in respiratory therapy.
