Suspect in custody after several high speed pursuits in and around City of Fond du Lac
A man was taken into custody around 1:15 AM Thursday morning, December 14, 2023 after leading Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Officers, Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers, City of Fond du Lac Police Officers and North Fond du Lac Officers all on separate high speed pursuits.
The first pursuit started about 12:40 AM when a deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the driver of a black Subaru, but the driver took off at a high rate of speed east on Johnson.
Because of the dangerous driving behavior, the chase was terminated.
Minutes later a City of Fond du Lac Officer was behind the vehicle south on Military. As the vehicle approached the I-41 area, the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver again attempted to elude the officer.
With speeds around 100 mph on Rolling Meadows, approaching Johnson, the call was again made to terminate the pursuit.
About a minute later, a North Fond du Lac Officer attempted to stop the vehicle in the Village of North Fond du Lac. After going back and forth on several streets in the village, the vehicle turned down a dead end street on Park Ridge Lane.
At some point at this time the officer stated the driver drove across a grassy area back on Pioneer and the officer terminated his pursuit.
After the pursuit was terminated, the vehicle struck a tire deflation device that had been previously set up by officers with the Fond du Lac Police Department. The vehicle continued unpursued eastbound on Scott Street, and was located at the dead end of Hickory Street and Montana Street. Officers initiated a high-risk traffic stop on the parked vehicle. Officers located a male subject, and identified him as the driver of the vehicle during the pursuits. The driver was cooperative with commands from law enforcement, and was taken into custody without incident.
The driver was identified as a 32-year old male from Appleton, Wisconsin. He is a convicted felon, and is currently out on bond conditions for felony charges in Fond du Lac County, and misdemeanor bond conditions in Outagamie County. He was arrested for Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with a repeater enhancement, Possession of Narcotic drugs with a repeater enhancement, Felony Bail Jumping, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and operating with a revoked license
A search of the vehicle resulted no other suspects but it was thought there may have been a passenger that may have bailed out of the car on foot so a search was done in the area.
