Trinity Lutheran in Campbellsport Breaks Ground For New Church Building

Trinity Lutheran Church, W494 Elm St., Campbellsport (located in Dundee) is breaking ground for a brand-new facility which will be located on the same site as Trinity Lutheran School W2011 County Road F, Campbellsport (located in Waucousta). Groundbreaking is scheduled to take place at 10 am on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The public is invited to attend.

According to Building Committee Chairman Clay Hardenburger, “There are many reasons to build. The church is experiencing growth, the current building is 120 years old and not handicap accessible and having the church and school on the same campus is ideal.” He also added, “Having improved visibility and accessibility for the church on the new site allows our ministry to be more visible and viable to our surrounding community.”

The proposed timeline for the 10,000 square foot building project has a start date in October of 2023 with completion in July of 2024. Excel Engineering of Fond du Lac is providing the architect and engineering services with Catalyst Construction of Milwaukee and the Fox Cities/Green Bay serving as the construction manager.

Trinity is a part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), which is the third largest Lutheran Church body with 1,250 churches worldwide. Trinity’s congregation was formed in 1878 with the present-day church structure being built in 1903.

Valuing Christian Education, Trinity added a Lutheran School for grades K4 – 8th grade in 1981 and completed a school addition in 1987. The school is
undergoing the WELS School Accreditation process (WELSSA) which is recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) in association with their acceptance into the school choice program starting in the 2023-24 school year.

“The mission of Trinity is to glorify God by continually growing in the Word whereby we preach, teach, and reach others with Christ’s saving truth,” states Pastor Bobby Oberg. “When you come to Trinity, you will experience country church charm as you gather with others just like you who need to hear God’s encouraging message of love and salvation.”

Trinity worship services will continue to take place at the Dundee location until the new church is ready for occupancy in 2024. Service times are Mondays at 7 pm year-round. Labor Day through Memorial Day Sunday service times are 8 and 10:30 am with Sunday School, Teen Bible Study and Adult Bible Study between services.
