Two men were sentenced to prison in Fond du Lac County Monday, December 2, 2024, stemming from separate fentanyl death incidences.
Derrise Townsend Jr. was sentenced for First Degree Reckless Homicide for a May 2020 fentanyl death that occurred in Fond du Lac County. He was sentenced to 8 years of initial confinement and 7 years of extended supervision.
Maison Springston is the first of four people to be sentenced in an April 2023 fentanyl overdose death that occurred in the City of Ripon. Springston was sentenced to 7 years of initial confinement and 8 years of extended supervision.
District Attorney Toney stated Springston was 16-years-old at the time of the deadly fentanyl delivery and showed a callous disregard human life, leaving a friend to overdose and die, alone on a sidewalk in Ripon. The three other defendants convicted in this case face sentencing over the next 3 months.
