Two theater productions to attend in June
The Fond du Lac Community Theatre has announced two productions this summer, showcasing the talents of local performers of all ages. From a family-friendly Disney adventure to a timeless Broadway classic, theatergoers have two opportunities to experience live community theater in June.
The summer season kicks off with Encore Junior’s production of Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS on June 19 and 20 at 5 p.m. at the Goodrich Little Theatre.
Based on the Disney animated film, The Aristocats KIDS follows Duchess and her kittens as they embark on a thrilling adventure across Paris after being separated from their home. Along the way, they meet colorful characters, learn valuable lessons about friendship and family, and discover that home is where the heart is. Filled with memorable songs and energetic performances, this production showcases the talents of the area’s young performers.
The second production is Guys and Dolls, one of Broadway’s most celebrated musicals, running June 25-28 at the Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center. Performances are June 25 – 27 at 7 p.m. and June 28 at 2 p.m.
Set in New York City’s colorful underworld, Guys and Dolls tells the story of high-stakes gamblers, unlikely romances, and unforgettable characters. Featuring classic songs including “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,” and “A Bushel and a Peck,” the production combines humor, heart, and musical performances in a show that has delighted audiences for generations.
Aristocats KIDS is free to attend; however, tickets are still required and Guys and Dolls offers a variety of ticket options. Tickets for both shows are available at hometowntickets.com/FDLCT.
