UWO Fond du Lac Set to Host Fall Play “Lizzie: A Rock Opera”

LIZZIE is four women fronting a rock band. The murder of Andrew and Abby Borden continues to spark the public’s imagination. Everyone knows the nursery rhyme that starts “Lizzie Borden had an axe.” LIZZIE is rage, betrayal and bloody murder set to a blistering rock score owing less to Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber than to Bikini Kill, the Runaways and Heart. Music and lyrics by Stephen Cheslik-deMeyer; lyrics, book and additional music by Tim Maner plus music and additional lyrics by Alan Stevens Hewitt. Pay-what-you-will preview (cash only at the door) is October 19 at 7p. Show dates are Oct 20-21 and 25-28 at 7p plus Oct 22 at 2p. Ticket prices are $15 for adults; $10 for faculty/staff/seniors and $5 for students. Patrons who come dressed as Lizzie Borden get $5 admission (cash only at the door). All performances are at UWO-Fond du Lac, 400 University Drive, in the Prairie Theatre.
