Vegetation fires active in county – should diminish with incoming rain

Fond du Lac County is again bumped into the moderate category for outdoor fire danger and area fire departments are again seeing an uptick in vegetation fires.
Thursday, March 27, 2025, the Campbellsport Fire Department was called out to a fire on County Road F near Woodland Drive. That fire was discovered just before 1:30 in the afternoon.
Around 5:30 PM the Eden Fire Department was called to an outdoor fire in the N2600 block of Hilltop Drive, and just after 7 PM the Oakfield Fire Department was notified by a passing train conductor of a fire along the train tracks near church road. The Brownsville fire department was called to assist the Oakfield fire department due to the size of that fire.
Rain moving in Friday and forecast to be around for the duration of the weekend should help bring the threat of wildland fires back down to the low category.
