Vehicle crash in Fond du Lac results in OWI 6th offense arrest

Fond du Lac Police investigated a two vehicle crash Tuesday, December 16, 2025, that resulted in one of the drivers being arrested for their 6th offense of driving while intoxicated.

At about 2:45 p.m., Police and Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to the crash at the intersection of Western Avenue and South Seymour Street.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 53-year-old Fond du Lac man was northbound on Seymour, when his vehicle was struck by a truck driven by a 59-year-old Cascade man traveling eastbound on Western Avenue. The driver of the truck failed to stop at the posted stop sign.

The 53-year-old driver was extricated from his vehicle with assistance from the City of Fond du Lac Fire Rescue and transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the truck was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated causing injury – 6th offense, inattentive driving, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

The crash remains under investigation.
