Waupun Woman Air Lifted From Crash Scene

A 31-year-old Waupun woman was airlifted from a crash scene near Waupun Saturday night, October 29, 2022.

At 6:08 PM, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a single vehicle crash on Savage Road near Whooley Rd, about two miles north of Waupun.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Waupun Country Fire and LifeStar Ambulance responded finding the woman lying next to the vehicle.

ThedaStar Air Medical was called to the scene and transported her to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with serious injuries.

Through an investigation of the crash, it was determined the vehicle was traveling south on Savage Road when the driver, a 27-year-old man from Waupun, failed to negotiate a curve north of Whooley Road.

The vehicle entered the west ditch and overturned.

The driver was arrested for causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

According to police logs, a witness said she saw the vehicle going 90-100 mph with no headlights on just before the crash occurred.

The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office
