Wisconsin DNR yearly state park permits now go 12 months from time of purchase

The Wisconsin DNR is changing the way state park vehicle passes are offered.

Starting Monday, December 2, 2024, passes for state parks will be valid for 12 months after the date of purchase rather than the January 1st to December 31st timeframe the department has used for years.

In the past, a yearly state park sticker purchased at anytime during the year was only good through the end of that year. Now its a 12 month period no matter when the permit is issued. The permit will expire on the last day of the month that sticker was purchased in 12 months prior.

A 12-month admission pass costs $28 for vehicles with Wisconsin license plates or $38 for vehicles with out-of-state plates. Anyone that has already ordered a yearly sticker can still use them. They are good from January 1st through December 31st.
