Wisconsin Family Action questions Hong Campaign Leadership Including Porn Star

A Wisconsin conservative advocacy group is raising concerns about the judgment of Democratic gubernatorial frontrunner Francesca Hong over the background of one of her campaign staff members.

Wisconsin Family Action issued a statement Thursday, August 6, 2026, criticizing Hong after reports that her deputy campaign manager, Renee Faust, maintains an active account on an adult-content website and is involved in sex worker advocacy.

According to the organization, Faust also founded the Coalition of American Sex Workers–Local 304 and was honored by Hong with a legislative citation in 2025 recognizing her as the 2024 Penthouse Pet of the Year during a socialist event.

Campaign finance records cited by Wisconsin Family Action show Faust received a campaign payment of just over $5,700 on July 1 for her work with the Hong campaign.

Wisconsin Family Action President Daniel Degner questioned Hong’s leadership, saying voters deserve to know whether Faust would have a role in a future Hong administration if she were elected governor.

The organization also criticized Hong’s legislative record, pointing to bills she authored or opposed that it says would legalize prostitution and weaken protections for children from pornography. Those positions were contrasted with Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany, who has pledged to support legislation aimed at strengthening protections against sexually explicit material involving minors.

Hong’s campaign had not publicly responded to Wisconsin Family Action’s statement as of Thursday.
