Wisconsin Family Council release its new three-part documentary series, Deemed Non-Essential: When Wisconsin Locked the Church Doors
The Wisconsin Family Council has released a three-part documentary examining restrictions on religious gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, including events involving churches in Fond du Lac and West Bend.
The series, titled “Deemed Non-Essential: When Wisconsin Locked the Church Doors,” features interviews with clergy about the effects of pandemic-related restrictions on worship services, schools and community ministries.
One episode focuses on Trinity Baptist Church and School in Fond du Lac, featuring Senior Pastor Dan Leeds and School Principal Jeremy Shaeffer.
Another examines a law enforcement response at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend in April 2020.
The Wisconsin Family Council says the series raises questions about religious freedom and equal treatment under the law. The organization has made the documentary, companion articles and research materials available at FreedomToWorship.org and on its YouTube page.
