Wisconsin’s Best Burger Contest Winner

The winner of the 2nd annual Wisconsin Beef Council’s Best Burger Contest was announced Thursday, May 1, 2025, to coincide with the first day of Beef Month.

The Brazen Beer Cheese Burger at Brazen Head Pub in West Bend was crowned the winner in this year’s contest.

After first being nominated along with dozens of other burgers, the restaurant was narrowed down to an elite eight that received the most votes. Also included in the elite eight this year was Fond du Lac’s 11:11 Burgers and Beignets.

In April, judges from the beef council secretly visited each of the top eight and judged each burger on several categories, coming up with the winner.

The winning burger is described as a half-pound Angus beef patty, topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings, and Harp beer cheese, served on a warm pretzel bun.
