Woman struck by train in Lomira

Dodge County authorities are investigating the details that led a woman to be struck by a train overnight in the village of Lomira.

Around 11:45 PM a call came in to the dispatch center saying a woman, thought to be in her 40s, was struck by a passing train near the intersection of South Avenue and Railroad Avenue, just south of Main Street. The person calling in the incident said the woman was bleeding from her head.

Lomira First responders and Theresa EMS also responded and the ambulance transported the woman to the parking lot of Midwestern Shooters Supply where ThedaStar Medical Helicopter was waiting to transport the woman to a level one trauma center.

No other details have been released in the incident. KFIZ will have more details when and if they are released.
