Woman who killed another woman in Fond du Lac drug deal pleas no contest in death

The woman accused of stabbing another woman in an attempt to steal drugs from her in Fond du Lac during a drug deal pleaded no contest Friday, May 9, 2025, to charges of Reckless Homicide with a Dangerous Weapon.

20-year-old Annaka Trudell was facing charges of 1st-degree Intentional Homicide by Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Party To A Crime of Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with Use of Force, but settled in a plea deal to the lesser charge.

The charges stem from an incident that took place in the City of Fond du Lac February 13th of 2024 in the Anytime Fitness parking lot near the intersection of north Macy and west Follett Street. That’s when Trudell had arranged to meet with Ashley Calo of West Bend to buy drugs.

Trudell and 21-year-old Dawson Miller devised a plan to set up the drug deal with Calo in the parking lot, but not pay her. Miller allegedly told Trudell to have a knife with her in the event the robbery went bad.

After the altercation where Trudell ended up stabbing Calo several times, Trudell ran back to the car where Miller was waiting and the two fled. Calo then got in her car and attempted to drive off but passed out due to her wounds and her car drove up on some bushes behind a north Main Street business where officers found her unconscious. She was transported to the hospital where she was
pronounced deceased.

With the lesser charges, Trudell went from facing life in prison to 60 years.
