Woman with history of retail theft arrested after stealing from Fond du Lac Walmart and leading police on a short pursuit

A Milwaukee woman with a history of retail theft thought she could come to Fond du Lac and steal from our stores, but she learned a hard lesson that police weren’t going to allow that to happen.

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, shortly after 10:30 PM, Wal-Mart loss prevention notified the City of Fond du Lac Police of a shoplifting incident that was occurring.

The suspect was leaving the parking lot in her vehicle when the first officer arrived and the officer attempted a traffic stop, but the women fled, running a red light at the intersection of Johnson Street and Rolling Meadows Drive.

The woman entered 41 southbound and eventually exited at Hickory Road where she stopped at the top of the off ramp. A high risk stop was conducted and the 37-year-old was taken into custody and arrested for felony retail theft, fleeing from an officer, felony bail jumping, second offense possession of marijuana, a probation/parole warrant, and two Waukesha County warrants for shoplifting and retail theft.
