Young Professionals of Fond du Lac hosts rebranded Young Leaders Breakfast event, now “Focus Forward”
Young Professionals of Fond du Lac (YPF), a program of Envision Greater Fond du Lac, recently hosted its 4th annual Focus Forward: Navigating the Next Chapter event (formerly known as Young Leaders Breakfast).
Focus Forward connects young professionals in Fond du Lac County with high school students to share ideas, impart wisdom, and develop relationships that will support the continued growth of the Fond du Lac County workforce through round table discussions.
At the 2024 event, 160 area high school students from 10 different schools registered for Focus Forward, having an opportunity to connect with 57 young professionals representing 44 different businesses and a variety of industries, including business, arts, engineering, skilled trades, and health care.
“Focus Forward is an opportunity for area young professionals to mentor high school students as someone who recently walked in their shoes,” Bethany Warntjes, YPF volunteer and event Chair, said. “This event aims to show students that there are many possibilities, no matter what their next chapter looks like.”
During the event, young professionals enjoyed breakfast with the students, answering questions, sharing personal stories, life lessons, and information about schooling or training completed and career paths. Through these conversations, students make local connections with young professionals who can inspire them with a positive outlook of the greater Fond du Lac area and showcase why it’s a great place to live, play, and work.
