Zacherl Funeral Home to install O.A.K. (Overdose Aid Kit)
Zacherl Funeral Home is proud to announce its partnership with the Jenna Razner family and the Clinton Foundation to install an O.A.K. (Overdose Aid Kit) at it’s facility.
The O.A.K. is designed to provide immediate access to life-saving resources in the event of a suspected overdose. The official installation will take place on Thursday, November 20th, at 3:45 p.m. at Zacherl Funeral Home.
Following the installation, staff members will receive training from the Fond du Lac County Health Department on the proper use and administration of the kit.
A message from the Razner family:
“Two years ago, we lost our beloved daughter and sister, Jenna, to a fentanyl overdose. Jenna always wanted to do what she could to help others. In her memory, we would like to do what we can to help families and those struggling with addiction to have more access to the lifesaving tools in this OAK box. People from our community and beyond come to Zacherl, often at the most challenging moments of their lives. You never know who may have a loved one who is struggling with addiction, or who is struggling themselves, or who may just want to have Narcan on hand in case they are ever in a situation where it is needed. By having the box here, people can have access to the resources if they need them. If the contents of this box could save one life, Jenna would have a smile on her face. We are grateful to Zacherl for allowing us to donate this in her memory.”
“Opioid overdoses can happen anywhere, at any time. Having naloxone on hand can save a life. Dead people do not and cannot recover. The naloxone in the O.A.K. is available for anyone to take, no questions asked, no shame, no stigma, to be used in an onsite emergency in the funeral home or for someone to take home and keep in their first aid kit.” Said Jessica Geschke, Senior Project Manager, Overdose Response Network with the Clinton Foundation.
CGI’s Overdose Response Network is encouraging additional businesses, organizations, and municipalities to join the fight against the fentanyl crisis and obtain an O.A.K. in their community.
